Located in Moss Bluff, LA you will find Sam Houston Jones State Park. It was a beautiful day so I decided to take a drive out to Sam Houston Jones State Park to share what I discovered. I think you will be as excited as I was to see what is available in Southwest Louisiana for family fun and recreation!
Set along the backdrop of the Calcasieu River, Sam Houston Jones State Park offers the beauty and serene quiet of nature.
There are nature trails you discover, boat launches, cabins to rent and wildlife to be spotted.

As I drove through the park it was nice to see families riding bikes, fishing, boating and having old fashioned picnics!
I never saw an alligator while I was touring but I did see some turtles and some ducks!
The backdrop of the park shows off the beauty of Southwest Louisiana with a natural habitat of, cypress trees, moss and water!
It is typical in Louisiana to come across what is known as “wetlands” this is land which cannot be developed. Wetlands are part of the state conservation and natural habitat for wildlife.
