Trend reports show that historicially in December, Calcasieu Parish has declining numbers for sold transactions. Many Lake Charles buyers and sellers will wait until after the holidays to begin their real estate focus. Today (the day after Christmas) I showed 2 homes to new Lake Charles buyers!
I have received several calls during the month of December from Sellers who are considering selling their homes in 2012.
Pricing is key to the sale of your Lake Charles home. It is imperative that homes are priced correctly from the very start to keep up and/or ahead of market trends. Just like retail shoppers, home buyers are looking for bargains and best buys. Christmas has come and gone and now home buyers turn their attention to the new year and using their tax returns as down payments for a home purchase!
Homes priced correctly from the very start will get the most attention. The real estate market is just too uncertain and changing too fast for most Lake Charles home sellers to keep up to date. If your Lake Charles home is still for sale you may want to consider a price reduction.
