Mark Your Calendars for Popular Lake Charles Events

October is a beautiful month in Southwest Louisiana and Lake Charles has several local events residents enjoy in October besides our regular McNeese football!

Beginning at 7am on  October 20th Southwest Louisiana residents can register to participate at the Lake Charles Civic Center for the Ethel Precht Hope Breast Cancer Walk/Run.  The event will begin at 8am and the walk/run follows at 8:30 am.

Ethel Precht Cancer walk

This Lake Charles event was founded in 2004 by Ethel Precht to benefit local residents who were undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

In 2008 Ethel Precht started the HOPE Breast Cancer Foundation devoted to helping breast cancer survivors.  The Foundation awards a scholarship at McNeese State University to a student who is a breast cancer survivor or has a member of their immediate family who is a survivor of breast cancer.

Later in the afternoon beginning at 2pm-6pm October 20th  a portion of Ryan Street (in front of the Calcasieu Parish Courthouse and Historic 1911 City Hall) will be blocked off for Rouge et Blanc .  This is Lake Charles Premier Wine Event and a favorite of Lake Charles residents.

Southwest Louisiana is full of events year round for residents to enjoy!  For more information on Lake Charles, view Lake Charles Living.
