6 Staging Tips for Spring

Spring is about new beginnings and there’s no better time to update your home’s staging to make it as appealing as possible to potential buyers. Here are 6 tips to help you perfectly stage your home for spring.

Focus on Landscaping

The winter months can leave your yard looking less than pristine. Remove all traces of winter weather by clearing fallen limbs, raking up dead leaves, and doing regular yard maintenance. Once you have your yard cleaned up, consider bringing in a professional landscaper to give your home the ultimate curb appeal. This is a great time to invest in beautiful spring foliage that will make your house stand out from the others on the block.

Get your outdoor space ready for spring by bringing out your patio furniture. Show potential buyers that they can entertain indoors and outdoors if they choose your home. An inviting outdoor gathering area with seating, a grill, and maybe a firepit is a great start. Outdoor lighting, such as battery-operated tea lights in mason jars or string light Edison bulbs, make a nice addition.

Spring Clean, Inside and Out

Take your normal cleaning routine to the next level and do some heavy-duty spring cleaning. Tackle all those jobs that only get done seasonally, such as cleaning your baseboards, cleaning the inside of the oven, and making those high windows and skylights sparkle. Now is the time for the tasks that people don’t normally notice, as well. Clean off the top of the ceiling fan blades. Wipe out drawers and cabinets. Be sure to get rid of any clutter that can detract from the beauty of your home. You get the idea. Once your home is spotless, make it smell like spring with an essential oil diffuser or scented candles.

While spring cleaning the inside of your home, don’t forget about the outside as well. After winter weather, it’s a good idea to clean out your gutters and make sure they’re in good working order. Another way to make the outside of your home look great is to have your house and driveway cleaned with a pressure washer. If you don’t own a pressure washer, you can easily rent one or hire someone to do the job for you.

Make the Front Door Pop

A small investment that can make a huge difference is painting your front door. A bold, bright color can really make the entrance to your home pop. A fun spring wreath in a contrasting color will add to the welcoming look. If you have your street numbers on or beside your front door, update those as well to make the whole area look polished. The front door is a small portion of your house that makes a big impact.

Spring Color Palette

Update the color palette inside your home with bright spring colors and crisp whites. You don’t have to paint the walls to bring in spring colors. Throw pillows, accent rugs, table runners, and more can add a splash of color and evoke the beauty of spring. Some go-to spring colors to try are yellow, teal, green, and coral.

Invite the Natural Light In

Now that the sun is starting to shine, make use of that natural lighting. Pull the curtains back and open the blinds to brighten up a room. Sheer panels are another effective alternative that will open up your space. Sunlight streaming into a room not only looks amazing but will show potential buyers that they can save on electricity costs by using natural light.

Fresh Flowers

You can’t have an article about staging a home for the spring without including fresh flowers. This season is known for the beautiful flowers it produces. Make use of these blooms by using them throughout your home to add pops of color, beauty, and a lovely aroma. Some great places to display flowers include tables, bookshelves, fireplaces, and countertops. Fresh flowers look good in any room of the house, from the living room to the bathroom. All rooms can benefit from fresh spring flowers. A clear glass or white vase is the perfect complement to a bright floral arrangement.

Set the Stage

Start now utilizing these tips to make sure that your home is staged and ready for the spring. With just a little bit of effort, you can transform your space for the season. Happy spring!
